PROBLEMAZ AWARD : TWOMOVERS 2008

17 problems of 10 authors from 7 countries took part in this tournament of average quality.
Thanks to Abdelaziz for the invitation to act as the judge and to Udo Degener who kindly checked the entries for anticipations. A number of problems by Schneider/Pankratjev surfaced which prevented a distinction for No. 325 (Onkoud).

There are 21 participating problems. The quality of the problems is low. One can find the last time in all magazines many problems without a thematic content. In fact in these problems there is not more to see than that the black king is mated in many cases even at the edge of the board. Perhaps this may have some interest for solvers, but from the viewpoint of composition it has no value. Hence I have given only a small number of distinguishes. The sequence of Knightpromotions in no 15 and the staircase with both kings in no 16 are (...)

Laissez-moi commencer en faisant la remarque que j’admire le travail qu ’ Abdelaziz Onkoud fait pour le problème d’échecs Pour cette raison , c’est un plaisir pour moi de juger les trois coups et multi coups de la revue Problemaz pour l’année 2001.
Les treize problèmes (6 trois coups et 7 multi coups) de ce tournoi étaient corrects. Le niveau générale n’était pas élevé , mais deux problèmes étaient significativement supérieurs des autres problèmes. Il s’ensuit des résultats suivants :
Premier prix : Michel Caillaud
Mat en 4 coups.
Ce problème et le deuxième prix ont le même thème : les blancs ont deux (...)
